Where the name comes from

Halict is named after the sweat bee, Halictus.

A few millimetres long. Nobody watches this bee. Even so, it fills the chambers it dug in the ground, one at a time, with what it has gathered. A place for each thing, nothing spilled, all the way to the end. That is the tool we wanted to build.

There is something else about this bee. Some species guard the nest alone, others divide the work and live as a group, and the same bee can change how it lives with the season. Start alone, share the load with a few people, become a team. We think the people using this go through the same thing.
